Honest Pricing

What does SHA membership actually cost? Here's the truth.

Most trade groups don't tell you what their programs cost until you've talked to someone on the phone. We don't operate that way. Below is every program we run, what it costs, what's included, and what to watch for so you can decide whether SHA fits how you want to grow your business, before anyone ever asks you for a dollar.

How SHA Pricing Actually Works

SHA isn't a typical trade association. We're run by working hardscapers , the same people pouring bases, setting pavers, and bidding pool decks you compete with every week. The largest share of every dollar we collect goes into the real things members feel: venues for mixers, instructors and materials for SHA Elite courses, the Contractor Growth Summit, the awards banquet, and the directory that puts your business in front of homeowners and dealers.

You'll see two associations charge wildly different fees, not because one is ripping you off, but because of what's actually behind the membership. A low-fee group with no events and no leadership is exactly that: a logo you can put on your truck. SHA's pricing reflects a calendar of real, in-person events, hands-on training led by manufacturers, and a leadership team that actively returns calls. When you compare, compare what shows up after you join.

What a quality membership includes that a cheap one doesn't: real networking with people who do the work (not just sales reps), training from manufacturers on installation methods that actually save callbacks, advocacy when industry issues come up, and a directory homeowners and dealers actually use. If a "membership" doesn't include those, you're paying for a sticker.

When to be skeptical of a low membership price: if it's priced at a fraction of comparable groups, ask what events ran last year, who taught them, and how many members showed up. The cheapest membership in the industry is almost always the most expensive one, because you got nothing for it.
